    Lyrics

Sometimes you can fix something by fixing it twice
    then give up altogether

Sometimes you can fix something by going fishing
Sometimes you just need to fish

Sometimes you can fix something by leaving it alone
Everything will work if you let it

Sometimes you can fix something in your dreams
Let your brain do all the work

Sometimes you can fix something by using a lamp cord
    Tied neatly around your neck

Sometimes you can fix something with a bottle of beer
Or three or five or seven

Sometimes you can fix something by ignoring it
    Maybe it will go away

Sometimes you can fix something with 3 lbs of nails
You get to pound the shit out of something

Sometimes you can fix something by climbing the walls
Be sure to bring a ladder

Sometimes you can fix something by staring it in the face
    But not a gorilla

Sometimes you can fix something by Driving around
    In some one else's car

Sometimes you can fix something by pissing in the wind
Be sure to bring an umbrella

Sometimes you can fix something by killing the messenger
It was probably bad news anyway

Sometimes you can fix something by just being there
    No one ever stays present

Sometimes you can fix something by listening to the wind
I heard the answers in their a'blowin

Sometimes you can fix something by going to sea
All rivers and streams lead there

Sometimes you can fix something with a banjo string
A lot of strength for it's size

Sometimes you can fix something by climbing inside
Hard to judge something by it's cover

Sometimes you can fix something by saying hello
    Nice to meet cha'

Sometimes you can fix something by taking it apart
And then just put it back together

Sometimes you can fix something by smacking it twice
Or dropping it on the floor

Sometimes you can fix something by fixing yourself
Turns out it was you that was broken

    The Story

The Banjo is a Paramount style "C" tenor banjo made in 1928 and purchased new by the man who taught me how to play and then given to me after he passed away in 1992. His name was Arnold Harvey. He played professionally in the 20's and 30's and continued playing with local musicians the rest of his life. It is one of my most prized possessions. I recorded the track right to my iPod using a clip-on microphone and sitting in my den. First time I ever tried to write or record anything. ( it took me several tries)Thanks for the opportunity to contribute! Let me know if you need anything else. Bob W.
